the proposal

Well this little story of mine is a bit outdated coz I actually do not know when exactly it happened due to several attempts.  It’s a bit funny yet very romantic coz Vin did it on an installment basis and in a very predictable way.

 First Half

It was 2 days before February 14, 2005, when Vin and I went to Baguio for our first Valentine celebration. We went to a silvershop named “PILAK” located just across the Botanical Garden. While I bought a pair of beautiful earrings he was busy looking for a nice pair of rings.  (obviously its for me and him)  Then he asked me to check if the ring would fit in to my little fingers and bought it. We went to the Botanical garden and as we were sitting on the stairs, he again asked me to wear the ring with an intro of asking me to marry him.  I accepted the ring because I would like to marry him but not as soon as possible so I told him to ask me again sometime in the future.

   Second Half

It was our anniversary and as I predicted it was the second time Vin asked me to marry him. And as expected he popped out the question in the most casual way.  Again I said yes to him but I told him I am  still expecting for a romantic and creative proposal coming from a predictable & routinary Vincent.   

  Overtime

After the second attempt, I always expected a dinner date, an out of town gimmick or a special treat. I even asked him when he will make the big proposal or how he’s planning to do it?  Every now & then, he asked me if it was really necessary for him to propose for a third time. I told him that it is every woman’s dream to be proposed to.  And he would always recount the two occasions when he proposed.  I told him I want something special, and I want a surprise (not that the earlier proposals weren't). And so it happened.  It was 5 days before our 2^nd year anniversary when we had a big fight over something very petty (and Im the one to be blamed). Two days after the big fight, I went to his place to talk to him to make amends. And out of the blue he told me that he loves me so much & he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me as he  opened up a black box with a ring and asked me to marry him for the third time.  It happened in the middle of our reconciliation time.  I cant believe he gave me an engagement ring coz he told me that its quite expensive and impractical.  I cant believe he proposed after I did something wrong. This time, he completely took me by surprise. Naturally, I said yes. I wasn't able to hold back tears of joy because he gave me what my heart desired and what I wanted.  I said yes to him coz I asked for a proposal and he gave it to me. I said yes to him because despite of my shortcomings he offered his life to be my partner.  Now I realized its not the romantic surprise I’m dying to experience, it ’s the sincerity of the heart that Vin offered to me that day and made me the happiest woman on earth.

I MISSED BLOGGING

Waaaaa. i missed blogging around... i terribly miss my friends online.

TWO TIMER

Really I am wondering if there people who have the luxury to be at two places at one time. I don’t know how could that be possible… 

one realization i had recently is that it is really “DIFFICULT” to become a two timer… devoting your time on equal priority.  I now admire those people who managed to play around with two or three girlfriends/boyfriends all at the same time. It is a real talent. 

It is truly difficult to manage two careers… to workloads that are both demanding. Since I was assigned as Asst Head for Human Resources both for Letran Abucay and Letran Intramuros, I find myself incompetent and ineffective.  I am very frustrated that I cant devote my time to the two institutions equally… thus giving my 100% is not enaough. Some tasks were left hanging, some concerns still unresolved and it is all because there’s only 24 hours a day. 

If only I could clone myself. I wish to have 5 sets assigned to the following

            Pearli            1           devoted to my family

            Pearli            2            exclusive for Vin

            Pearli            3            for HR Intramuros

            Pearli            4            for HR Abucay

            Pearli            5            who will finish my thesis and research work

Hehehe…

I missed blogging and I missed all my friends online.

BIG LEAP

Last May 19, 2006 upon reaching the age of twenty six i realized theat God indeed is so good to me.  Little by little all my dreams and my wishes came to a reality.  I never thought that I would received a wonderful gift on my birthday.

I am very happy that at my age, I was given the opportunity to be part of the Administration of Letran.  More than that, I was privileged enough to occupy three positions. I am now the Asst. Head for Research Planning and Organizational Development (HRD) not only here in Manila but also in the newly opened campus in Bataan. (hehehe astig)

I may be mayabang to blog about my new position, but the hell I care, I am very thankful that the management gave me the chance to prove my worth and value as an employee. 

I am happy... and I thank Vin, my family, my friends, Ms. Eloi and Annalie and of course to Fr. ( my boss) for the wonderful opportunity.
